Fishing Report

Since the opener the fishing hasn’t been excellent but it has been fairly decent.  Anglers have reported catching Lake Trout, Walleye, Northern and Smallmouth Bass.  The water temperature is still fairly cold with the cloudy days and rain we have been experiencing so the Lake Trout can be found quite shallow still.  They can be caught within ten feet or less of  the surface by trolling a Sutton Spoon or other artificial lure.  The Walleyes are even biting and early last week our neighbors had a great day of catching on Saganaga and enjoyed a fresh Walleye dinner.  Night fishing is a bit slow yet but hopefully we’ll get some warmer weather and then we’ll be in for a treat.  Smallmouth and Northern are often hard to keep off of your line up here and that remains the same so far this year.
