Waiting for the Weekend Already

I can’t wait for this coming weekend.  Not only do some of our superstar Voyageur Crew members return but there’s also lots more going on.  It’s the "Can’t Wait Til You’re Gone" send off weekend for the Voyageur Hudson Bay Expedition Crew

Adam Maxwell is already here meeting with crew member Will Tanner.  They’re discussing things like just how much peanut butter does a person need for 80 days of canoe camping.  I think I would be more worried about toilet paper personally, but my priorities are a little different.  Adam is cleanly shaven and has short hair.  It’s going to make for a great before and after set of pictures as all of the guys are doing the same thing and letting it grow during their Voyage.

A week from today the Voyageur Crew will depart from Grand Portage and they’ll make their way to Hudson Bay.  It’s going to be an incredible journey and we’re so excited for them we can hardly stand it.  We’ll be on the edge of our seats as we wait for word from them during the summer so we can blog and keep you up to date on their location as well.

We have some Expedition T-shirts available for sale and you can help support their journey by making an online donation.  Better yet why not join us for the weekend celebration?  We’re having a pancake breakfast fundraiser and an evening party on Saturday night with proceeds going towards the Expedition.   It’s going to be a great time.

In addition to all of these wonderful things it’s the Gunflint Trail Trash and Treasure Days.  57 miles of Garage Sales up and down the entire length of the Gunflint Trail on Saturday and Sunday.  Start the day off right by joining us for the pancake breakfast, finding some Voyageur steals and deals and then making your way back to town.  If you stop in then I’ll give you a coupon for a free peanut butter cup from Chelsea’s Gunflint Mercantile.  You’ll need to be back to town by 5pm to enjoy it, but that should give you plenty of time to get there.

Don’t miss out on this fun or the fun of fishing or paddling in the BWCA.  Come on up the Gunflint Trail and see us!
