Quetico Park Superintendent Visits Ely

I didn’t make the drive to Ely, MN to listen to the Quetico Park Superintendent but that doesn’t mean I’m not interested to hear what he has to say.

In a nutshell, Ely is the gateway to the Quetico Park and most visitors enter through Prairie Portage. Camping fees are higher than the BWCA and visitor use has declined significantly over the past 20 years. This past summer use was up a little bit, possibly because of the nice fall weather. In the near future Quetico Park is looking at online permitting(Not sure what that means since we already can reserve permits online).
