Then where would it be? Would you be camping on Saganaga looking for the next trophy walleye? Or hiding out in a long forgotten bay of Knife Lake? I think I would be content to be anywhere in the BWCA right now as long as I wasn’t in a shallow bay that might freeze overnight.
I always have nightmares about waking up in the BWCA with lakes that aren’t hospitable to travel. Either they are frozen and my only vehicle is a canoe or the ice is breaking up and I have a snowmobile. The good news is I’m waking up(and not dead) and I’m in the Boundary Waters. Whatever happens after that I figure it’s ok.
