Happy 4th of July!

Many people will be outside and looking into the skies this evening.  All across the nation fireworks will light up the dark night sky with their magnificent colors and designs.   I have other reasons to gaze into a dark cloudless night; shooting stars, northern lights, satellites and fireflies.

The great thing about living at the end of the Gunflint Trail or taking a trip into the canoe country wilderness is that every night you can see a light show in the sky.  Most of the time there is music to accompany the light show as well.  Crickets, frogs, loons and more sing their evening songs.

I love to watch fireworks and I love to look into the wilderness night sky, I wonder where I’ll be this 4th of July?
