Hammocks are a necessity when I go camping in the Quetico Park, Boundary Waters or anywhere for that matter. They make camp life so much more comfortable and enjoyable. I love sleeping in my Crazy Creek Crib but I hate to be antisocial when I’m camping with others so I usually just bring along an Eagle Next Outfitter Hammock. It’s perfect for hanging out in during the daytime and it’s lightweight, easy to set up and packs down to a small size. We sell them and have them for rent at Voyageur Canoe Outfitters and I highly recommend you bring one on your next canoe camping trip.

Hammocks aren’t just for camping. My kids like to “hang out” at the lighthouse in the Grand Marais Harbor. It’s the perfect place to catch a cool lake breeze or dry-off after a dip in the lake.
There are a variety of hammocks to choose from but I prefer ENO for day hammocking. It’s lightweight, durable and dries quickly. If you’re camping in the wilderness you won’t regret bringing along a hammock.
