Congratulations Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department
The Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department received an award from the Department of Natural Resources last week in Cloquet, MN. The barbecue and awards ceremony was held on July 12th at the Cloquet Forestry Center. The GTVFD received the Minnesota Division of Forestry Partnership Award for their outstanding leadership and service to the Gunflint Trail Area in response to the 1999 Blowdown, Alpine Lake Fire, Cavity Lake Fire, East Zone Complex and Ham Lake Fire.
A local Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department member who is employed by the Minnesota DNR also received two awards personally. One was for 10-years of excellent service and the other was the Minnesota Division of Forestry Award of Excellence for his work during the Ham Lake Fire.
A big congratulations go out to Tom Lynch and all of the members of the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department on a job well done.
