BWCA Fire

We are going to sleep a little easier tonight knowing the USFS and other fire protection agencies were able to hold the fire today.  Even with high temperatures, gusty winds and low humidity the firefighters kept us safe.  Sunday’s efforts made today’s work a little easier; the CL-215’s made a total of 193 drops on the fire(over 1/4 of a million gallons of water in one day!).  Many firefighters arrived today and will be working in the woods tommorrow to help keep the fire from spreading.  Tomorrow’s forecast is for less wind and some possible precipitation so it should make life alot less stressful for all of us at the end of the Trail.
