Alpine Lake Fire- Defeated?

The mood has considerably lightened here at Voyageur today.   I was a little bit nervous yesterday with the wind, but even after a day of gusts up to 20 mph.,  the firefighters were still able to hold their established lines.  This has left us feeling quite confident that the Alpine Lake Fire is under control and will not grow or endanger us any more.  This is good news and we are very thankful for the hard work and cooperation of all of the fire fighters involved.  We did receive some rain last night so that will only help matters.  According to the USFS,  the CL-215’s have not been very busy and the helicopter with the bucket has only been used to drop water on hot spot.   Since the beginning of the fire there have been 1.3 million gallons of water dropped.
