Winter vs Spring

  It appears as though there is some sort of a battle going on between the seasons on the Gunflint Trail.  One day Spring forces herself to produce temperatures in the 50’s and the next day Old Man Winter pushes the temperature back down to zero.  As Spring urges the mercury on the thermometer upward Old Man Winter blows with gusts up to 35 mph and then drops snow on us.  Who will win?  We all know it is just a matter of time before Spring reigns victoriously but I wouldn’t mind if Old Man Winter could get a few good punches in before that happens.  I’m not ready to hang up my cross-country skis and put away the snowmobile quite yet so let’s cheer for Old Man Winter for a couple more weeks.
