Whitetail Deer

The deer are all over the Gunflint Trail now preparing for their mating season.  The bus driver saw eleven on his way up the Trail this morning and in the one mile drive to the Trail I saw three deer.  There are a couple of big bucks hanging around but mainly there are does and fawns.  It wasn’t too long ago and there weren’t any deer to speak of on the Trail.  Thanks to the blowdown, prescribed burns, and businesses and homeowners who feed the deer during the winter it seems as though the population is thriving.  Is this good or bad?  I guess it depends upon who you ask.
