Want to be a Wilderness Ranger?

Here’s an opportunity to do the work of a wilderness ranger in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The Heart of the Continent is establishing a volunteer program so if you can’t help out in July then check out their other opportunities to lend a hand.

Backcountry Campsite Maintenance Volunteer, July 21-25, 2014, Superior National Forest, MN

Pack out trash, brush sites, reset latrines, reset fire grates, remove hazard trees and do erosion prevention work on campsites.
Difficulty Level: Low to Medium, depending on campsite and conditions. Volunteers should be comfortable working, camping, and traveling in a variety of environmental conditions.
Trip length is 1 week, including travel and training. Food provided. 20 volunteers needed on 8 teams in 5 Ranger Districts
Minimum Age: 18
