Want Snow!

We attended the annual Ski Swap at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais last weekend.  We retired some of our older equipment so the North Superior Ski and Run Club can use the money raised to support their club.  Seeing all of that equipment and being surrounded by skiers and outdoor enthusiasts made me want the snow to fall even more.

I have been impatiently waiting for winter to begin on the Gunflint Trail.  I’m ready to strap on my snowshoes or cross-country skis and hit the trails.  I know there are others like me out there who just can’t wait for the real snow to come.

Lutsen Ski Resort has been anxious for the white stuff to fall from the sky as well.  They have been making snow the past couple of weeks so they can open their downhill ski runs.  They did have a couple of runs open last weekend and plan to have 6-9 runs open by Thanksgiving!

This is good news that makes me very happy.  Our family took advantage of the great prices for season passes that are available for residents of Cook County.  Since Lutsen is currently the only place we can enjoy some winter fun we plan to hit the slopes just as soon as we can.
