Monday Morning
Winter Tracks has officially ended for another year. What a great festival it was. The weather couldn’t have been better and everyone had a wonderful time. Now the focus will move on to the next Gunflint Trail event happening March 15th, 2008.
The Mush for a Cure Fun Run is generating lots of excitement. There are over 20 mushers signed up to participate in this awesome doglsedding event to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. There are two very serious pledge seekers one of which is an 11 year old girl who has raised almost $1000.00 for the cause. The other mystery person has raised over $1000.00 so let’s hope the other 18 mushers take their fundraising efforts just as seriously.
There will be a prize raffle for all race participants at the completion of the race. There have been some great donations offered and we’re always looking for more. If you have something you’d like to donate then please contact me or Mary of Black Magic Kennels.
We hope there will be lots of spectators for the event too. It’s so thrilling to watch mushers harness their dogs and rush off into the distance. The dog’s enthusiasm is contagious as they yip and jump and try to get the sled moving. We still have openings for lodging at Voyageur for the Mush for a Cure weekend and we’d love to see you up here. Give us a call today, 1-888-CANOEIT.
