Last Day of 2012

It’s hard to believe it’s the last day of 2012. It hardly seems possible 365 days have gone by since the last time we celebrated the new year.  The last day of the year is a good time to reflect and nothing helps me do that more than browsing through the photos I have taken throughout the year.

While looking at the photos I’ve taken I can see how very lucky I am. The one thing that strikes me the most is the amount of time I was able to spend in the Boundary Waters this summer.  How fortunate I was to have such a wonderful Voyageur Crew that allowed me to be out paddling while they were all working. How awesome is it that I have family and great friends who want to spend time in the woods and on the water with me? I think if I total the number of nights in the Boundary Waters and Quetico Park this summer, add all of the day trips onto Sag and surrounding lakes plus all of the days I went hiking I probably spent a month in the wilderness. That time is precious and there’s no better time spent than time in the woods.

Other photos reflect family, great friends, wildlife and sporting activities. Many of the photos are of Abby playing volleyball or Josh playing football, baseball or hockey. I’m not sure where my camera was during Abby’s basketball and softball games, sorry Abby. What these photos show me is I have two very healthy children and time to watch them play. I love sports so how blessed am I to have kids who love to play sports?

A year in review of the over 1000 photos I’ve taken reminds me what a wonderful life I live.  Now I need to take time to think about what photos I want to take in 2013. I hope all of you have as many great memories of 2012 as I do and that you’ll have an even better new year.
