Ice in the BWCA
The Freeman’s are encountering ice in the Boundary Waters. They are the couple who is spending a year in the Boundary Waters to try to protect the BWCA from mining.
Last week they were on Seagull Lake and portaged into Paulsen Lake. I’m not sure why they included the over 500 rod portage on their journey but they did. They experienced cold weather and on their way back to Knife Lake they spent a considerable amount of time on top of the ice.
It sounds like quite the adventure and you can read more about their experience on their website.
