Happy Birthday Girl Scouts

The Girl Scouts are celebrating their 95th birthday today.  Juliette Gordon Low met with 18 girls in Savannah, Georgia to form the first Girl Scout Troop in the United States in 1912.  The organization is now more than 10 million girls strong and serves over 90 countries.

Abby is a proud member of the Girl Scout Organization and is a Brownie this year.  She just started selling Girl Scout Cookies to raise money for their small but active troop in Grand Marais.  If you haven’t placed an order with your favorite Girl Scout then feel free to e-mail us and we can ship your cookies to you.  They are just $3.50/box and taste as yummy as usual.

The Girl Scouts are a great organization and I’m grateful she has the opportunity to participate.  The Girl Scout Law is a law everyone should be familiar with and try to live by.

I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
