Celebrate the Summer Solstice
I don’t have any major plans for celebrating the Summer Solstice. It actually makes me kind of sad to think the days are already getting shorter. While I don’t necessarily like to see the sun at 5:00am and it’s sometimes difficult to stay awake until it’s dark out there’s just something about the days getting shorter when summer is just beginning that doesn’t sit well with me. I guess I’ll have to let it go since there isn’t anything I can do about it anyway.
Our Voyageur Hudson Bay Expedition Crew celebrated the Summer Solstice a day early. I know they didn’t get their days mixed up because they had called us over the weekend and knew what day it was. If you look at their SPOT locator tracks you’ll see they paddled over FORTY MILES and FOURTEEN HOURS yesterday! Can you imagine?
I can’t tell you how impressed I am with our Voyageur Expedition Crew. Not only are they making great progress on their journey but they are also doing a wonderful job representing Voyageur and our 50th Year Celebration.
They have met quite a few people along the way and all of them have been highly impressed with our Hudson Bay Bound Boys. I can’t say I’m surprised because they are all unique and friendly individuals everyone seems to like. It’s great knowing they are having such a wonderful adventure.
If you haven’t been following their Voyage then SHAME ON YOU! It’s been a highlight of my day to check their progress and see where they are every single day since the day they left. You can read articles about them, find blogs written about them and even watch a video clip of them from just a couple of days ago. Find the video on our Voyageur Hudson Bay Facebook Page. It’s an awesome adventure and we hope you’ll follow along the rest of the way.
