.THE FIRST WINTER STORM OF THE SEASON APPEARS TO BE ON TRACK TO
ARRIVE EARLY FRIDAY AND CONTINUE TO IMPACT THE NORTHLAND INTO
FRIDAY NIGHT. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE CENTRAL
PLAINS TODAY AND TONIGHT…AND EVENTUALLY REACH NORTHERN
WISCONSIN ON FRIDAY MORNING. RAIN IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD INTO THE
REGION THURSDAY NIGHT…AND THEN QUICKLY TRANSITION TO SNOW
ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHEAST MINNESOTA ON FRIDAY. THE TRANSITION TO
SNOW WILL LATE THURSDAY NIGHT OVER WESTERN AND NORTHERN PORTIONS
OF THE NORTHLAND. STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS WILL GUST AS HIGH AS 35
MPH ON FRIDAY AND SWITCH TO THE NORTH FRIDAY NIGHT. THIS COULD
CAUSE SOME AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IN OPEN AREAS. IF
