Winter Again on the Gunflint Trail

It’s a blustery morning on the Gunflint Trail.  The temperature is 21 degrees, the wind is gusting up to 30 miles per hour and everything is covered in snow.  It’s hard to believe it’s April 17th when you look out the window at the wintery scene.

In spite of the fact we’ll have to deal with mud again I’m thankful for the snowfall.  This will keep the ground nice and wet until everything has a chance to green up.  Low fire danger is a bonus of all of this moisture and the precipitation is needed to bring up the water levels from last fall.

We know this snow won’t be around very long so I’ll enjoy looking at it while it’s here.
