Sunshine

There sure has been alot of sunshine on the Gunflint Trail the past week or so.  The temperatures have been in the 70’s for almost two weeks and it sure makes the outdoors comfortable.  Clouds have been minimal and with so much sun and nothing to block the rays the reflection off of the water has been powerful.  The next time you head outside be sure to take extra care to protect yourself from both the sun and the heat.   Wear a hat and lightweight, breathable clothes that will help reflect the sun’s heat.  Try to stay out of the sun between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. as this tends to be the hottest time of the day.  If you are participating in a strenuous activity then slow your pace down and take more frequent breaks to avoid heat exhaustion.  Remember to keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water and if you feel faint then get out of the sun and try to cool yourself off in the shade.  Wear sunglasses,  slather on the sunscreen and come up and see us at Voyageur.
