Summer Slowly Slipping Away

The days are getting shorter, the nights longer and leaves are beginning to change color on the Gunflint Trail.  I’m not sure where the summer went but school sports are starting and before long school will start.

Summer is slowly slipping away and there isn’t anything we can do to change it.  We can however savor the remaining days and make the most of it.  The good news is the Gunflint Trail and Boundary Waters can still be enjoyed in the fall.

Fall is my favorite time of the year to paddle in the BWCA.  No bugs, fewer people and cool evenings are three of the reasons I like to camp in the fall.  The water is usually still warm enough for a quick swim and the wildlife makes more frequent appearances than during the middle of the summer.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and plan a trip to visit Voyageur in the fall.
