Snow Much Fun on the Gunflint Trail

Winter is a great time of the year when you can get outside and enjoy the beauty of it.  This past week I was lucky to get out and go cross-country skiing twice and snowshoeing once.

Most of the days of the week there were big tongue catching snowflakes floating down from the sky. The sun would shine intermittently throughout the day and the daytime temperatures were mild.  My friend and I had the ski trails all to ourselves both times and it was very peaceful.  The only sound I could hear besides the swish swish of my skis was that of my panting breath and pounding heart!

I’m looking forward to more days of skiing and snowshoeing this winter as well as a couple of other winter activities.  We’re planning a snowmobile ride and a day at Lutsen for downhill skiing with the Middle School kids on their field trip. I need to find a few times to irritate the trout as an old guide friend used to say.

Yep, winter is snow much fun, come join us for some.
