We woke up this morning to a heavy layer of smoke everywhere. The morning is still and without a flutter of wind the smoke just lingers in one place creating an eery setting. The smell of smoke is strong and you can almost taste it when you swallow. I went for a drive this morning to Seagull Lake to have a look and I couldn’t believe what I saw, nothing. The smoke was so thick you couldn’t see anything, except the dock. I’m not sure how the fire crews who are unfamiliar with the lake will be able to determine where they are going. Thank goodness for GPS. I’ll have more of a fire update before noon.
