Robbed in Broad Daylight

We were in the Twin Cities for the State Volleyball Tournament this past weekend. There are a number of wonderful things about the cities I’m sure. We didn’t have too much time to explore or do much other than watch volleyball.

One thing we did do was visit the Wabasha Street Caves. It was a great tour of a restaurant/bar inside of an old hill mined for sandstone.  There is a significant amount of history involving this place and the guide was super entertaining. The best part of the deal was it only cost $6.

This wasn’t when we were robbed. We were actually robbed inside of the Excel Center when I went into the common area to purchase a 20 ounce bottle of Diet Coke. I need my Diet Coke and while you can usually get them at a gas station for under $2.00 I have paid $3.00 at places like Disney World or other venues. I feel badly when we charge $2.00 at the end of the Gunflint Trail even when we pay alot more wholesale than places like Disney and/or the Excel.  $5 for a bottle of Diet Coke or a $1 for every 4 ounces at the Excel.

I felt robbed even though I really wasn’t “robbed”. I willingly gave them my $5 bill feeling a bit reluctant and very much the past tense form of what you  do with a screwdriver.
