More Fires in the Boundary Waters

     Yes, you read it right, starting Thursday there will be more fires in the Boundary Waters, campfires that is.  The campfire restriction is being lifted thanks to the all day rain we had on Sunday.  Most places on the Gunflint Trail and in the Boundary Waters received over an inch and a half of rain to dampen the dry forest.  This rain fell nice and slowly so it was able to soak into the ground instead of run off back into the lakes.  It was a much needed rain and we’re happy to be able to tell our guests they can once again enjoy an evening campfire on their Boundary Waters Canoe Trip.
