Memorable Memorial Weekend

     I can’t remember a Memorial Weekend that has had better weather then what we’re experiencing this year.  What a treat we have been given with temperatures in the eighties and sunny skies.  No snow, no rain, no sleet or high winds just gorgeous weather for a busy weekend.

     It’s unheard of to have guests sunbathing and swimming in the river on Memorial Weekend at Voyageur Canoe Outfitters.  The river water stays pretty cool year round and I can only remember one year when I challenged my new step-mother to jump in with me.  It was a quick in and out with no swimming involved, just a struggle to the shore.  This year guests have been swimming across the river and I’ve been swimming for over a week.  It’s just crazy weather.

     To make the weekend even more memorable is the fishing.  I have seen more fish come in the past couple of days then I have in a long time.  Our long time guests were enjoying a fish fry last night on the lodge deck and it smelled wonderful. 

     The great thing about being a lodge owner is being a part of all of the memory making.  People out enjoying their families and friends and spending quality time together.  I hope you are making some memorable moments this Memorial Weekend.
