Lake Trout Opener

Yesterday was the opener for Trout outside of the Boundary Waters.  We had guests who had some luck catching Lake Trout on Saganaga.  They enjoyed the mild temperatures and were able to venture safely onto the lake.  They said there was a good 8-10 inches of ice in most places and there wasn’t much slush.  Neighbors down the Trail also experienced some good fishing this opening weekend and caught some Brook Trout and Lake Trout.  I didn’t get out to do any fishing but I am happy all of the anglers returned from their trip safely.
