Labor Day in the BWCA

The forecast calls for a weekend of wonderful weather in the wilderness.  Temperatures during the day are expected to be up in the mid-70’s and down into the 50’s at night.  This morning a fog hung over the calm Seagull River until the sunshine burned through it.  This is a great time of the year to see such an occurrence because the water temperature is warmer than the air and it creates the most beautiful sunrises.  The cooler nights and shorter days are also helping to kick start the fall colors along the Gunflint Trail.  As the visitor numbers and insect population dwindle the wildlife numbers soar.  It’s too soon to put away your camping gear so come on up to Voyageur and enjoy a fall canoe trip.
