Happy Birthday GTHS

The Gunflint Trail Historical Society celebrated it’s first birthday on Monday at Gunflint Lodge.  There were over fifty people in attendance and excitement filled the air.  The Gunflint Trail Historical Society has over 200 members and a great group of people working on their first project.  The society hopes to open The Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center at the end of the Gunflint Trail by the Summer of 2010.  An agreement between TGTHS and the USFS was signed on June 20.  This agreement allows theTGTHS to lease the property and develop the Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Trails.  The museum will tell the story of the Gunflint Trail and all of the people who have lived there.  Plans are well underway for renovations, trail development, museum exhibits, and more.  The Gunflint Trail Historical Society would like to invite you to become a member.  You can find more information about membership or making a contribution on the website.
