Gunflint Trail Historical Society Picnic

The Gunflint Trail Historical Society invites you to the site of the Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center at the end of the Gunflint Trail. On Monday, August 28^th everyone is invited to explore the site and be a part of the excitement. You need not be a member to participate in a fun-filled day.

The day will begin with a grounds exploration and clean up at 10:00 AM. Participants will break up into groups and head into the woods to seek treasures and trash. Everyone is encouraged to wear appropriate clothing for working in the woods. At noon there will be a picnic with food and beverages provided. Bring along a lawn chair so you can sit and enjoy the meeting that will follow at 1:30 PM. There will be time to share stories and reminisce about days gone by on the Gunflint Trail. Come for all of the day or part of the day and even if it rains, we’ll meet inside. If you have any stories, photos, or other pieces of Gunflint Trail history then feel free to share.

The Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center is located approximately 55 miles from Grand Marais on County Road 81 or

37 Moose Pond Road.
