Great Grand Marais Storefront

     At Voyageur Canoe Outfitters we have water just outside of our front door.  The Seagull River flows into Saganaga Lake and within minutes our guests can be paddling the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.  Most outfitters on the Gunflint Trail are located on lakes, some Ely outfitters are on the water but many are located on a city street.  I don’t know of any outfitter or retail store with water for demonstrations this close.

     After our morning of heavy rains on Wednesday we received anywhere from 3-5 inches of rain on the Gunflint Trail.  Some rain soaked into the ground, some ran off but in Grand Marais it created a temporary paddling place in front of Stone Harbor otherwise used as a parking lot in front of their store.
