Gondola Ride at Lutsen Mountain
The kids didn’t have school yesterday so we decided to pretend we were tourists and visit Lutsen Mountain. When there isn’t snow there are alpine slide rides, hiking and gondola rides to the top of the mountain. Even though we knew the fall colors had already peaked it’s still a beautiful view and we had never been on the alpine slide.
We still haven’t been on the alpine slide because even though the website showed they were open they had expected rain so they didn’t open up for the day. We decided to still go up to the top of the mountain because there was no line. I guess last weekend there was a very long wait to get on. After purchasing our tickets we went to get on the gondola and found a huge line of fancily dressed people. It turned out there was a wedding at the top of the hill and the only way up was the gondola.
We waited patiently for our turn because the line wasn’t too long. The only challenge was it kept getting longer because some of the fancy dressed folks decided they should go in front of us. I’m not sure why they thought they should go before us but we finally got our turn.
It was quite windy and cool up there but it was nice to be outside and see the view of the trees and Lake Superior.
