Frost

     Not quite frost but it was close and without any warning to boot.  I usually see or hear about frost warnings so I was quite surprised when I woke up this morning to a thick fog hanging over the river and a bite in the crisp cool air.

     The thermometer at the Guard Station musn’t be working right now.  I checked their weather site and the last recording is from just after midnight, 32 degrees.  Of course I didn’t look at my car thermometer when I took the kids out to the bus because I was too busy trying to keep the dew off of my windshield.  Now the thermometer says 43 degrees and there isn’t a cloud in the bright blue sky. 

     If you can get some time off this week then I would suggest coming up on a canoe trip.  The forecast looks perfect for paddling and camping.  There are very few people out in the woods, even fewer bugs and it’s a full moon.  What more could a person ask for?  Wildlife?  There’s that too so come on up and see us before we really wake up to frost!
