Fall is a Wonderful Time of the Year

It’s difficult not to love fall even when it’s a cold rainy day like it was yesterday.  The smell of leaves, the chill in the air and the colors make it all better.  For once I feel almost content with the saying “Good-bye” of summer.  I haven’t shed a tear yet but that’s because I still have hope I’ll make it out for one more overnight in the BWCA yet this season. Maybe when I realize I may not have an opportunity I’ll cry.

I can’t imagine crying when it’s so beautiful outside.  We’ve had lots of sunshine and mild temperatures to enjoy being outside.  Hiking the trails beneath a big blue sky tends to make all of your worries disappear.  Soon the leaves will disappear and the snow will begin to fall.  Until then I’ll make the most out of this fall and enjoy this wonderful time of year.
