Everyone’s a Winner
The Cook County ISD 166 Education Foundation held their EATS Fundraiser last night. Enriching Education Through Sustenance is a great way to support the school. Tables of food from various restaurants lined the hallways so attendees could savor their offerings. Great silent auction items also filled the halls for everyone to bid on. There was even music provided by High School Students in the cafeteria.
Our PTA raffle ticket sales ended last night and we drew the winners at EATS. Over 200 tickets were sold at $25.00 each for 6 great prizes. First place was the Wenonah Royalex Canoe and a 3 day canoe trip for 2 from Voyageur Canoe Outfitters. Terri Paulson from Cedar, Minnesota will be paddling a new canoe with us sometime this summer. Joan Ege from Grand Marais, MN won the 2 night stay at Grand Superior Lodge and Elmer Pfarr won the 2 night stay at Caribou Highlands. He’s from St. Cloud, MN and happens to be my dad! Jeanne Anderson from Lutsen, MN won a 3 night stay in the campground or camper cabin with a day of guided fishing at Gunflint Pines Resort. She has a son in my son’s class so I’m hoping we get invited for Smores around the campfire when they are up enjoying their prize on Gunflint Lake. Janna Stevens from Superior, WI won a $250.00 gift card from Lake Superior Trading Post and Barb Anderson from Duluth, MN won a $200 bond from the Grand Marais State Bank. A huge thank you goes out to all of the people who purchased tickets, helped sell tickets, donated the prizes and to the organizers of the raffle. Cara Sporn from My Sister’s Place Restaurant did tons of work and Susan Roy has handled all of the paperwork.
When money is raised for a great cause and there’s eating involved everyone’s a winner.
