Body Recovered in BWCA Today

It’s not how you want the story to end. You always hold out hope until a body is recovered. Today around 5pm the body of  Michael Hickey was found in about 80 feet of water in Pine Lake.

Pine Lake is accessed most commonly from the Arrowhead Trail and can be accessed via the Gunflint Trail if you paddle and portage your way in. We once spent a 4th of July canoe trip at a campsite there.

It’s good they recovered his body, but it’s a sad end to the story.
