Baby It’s Dark Outside
It’s that final week before Daylight Savings Time when we really notice how dark the morning sky is. This was that week and Abby had to get out her trusty headlamp for reading in the bus on the way to school. My morning walk has taken place almost entirely in the black of the early morning sky. Thankfully things will look a little bit brighter this coming week.
Saturday night marks the annual ritual of falling behind. The practice of Daylight Savings will allow us an extra hour of sleep on Saturday night and an earlier sunrise, at least for awhile. Come around early December we’ll be back to the darkness and then some until the Winter Solstice when the days will begin to get longer once again.
It’s always amazing how much the daylight hours vary living at the end of the Gunflint Trail.
