Another Moose Bites the Dust
Do not look at these pictures below if you have a weak stomache. The other day I received a phone call telling me there was a dead moose by our neighbor’s property right next to the Saganaga Lake Channel. I of course had to go and check it out and take photographs.
I then proceeded to go on a little snowmobile ride and when I returned a person from the DNR was at the carcass taking samples. He was pulling teeth, collecting poop, cutting off skin, pulling hair and gathering it all to send to the cities to be examined. According to the agent the moose was a year and a half old female, not Malachai.
The obvious cause of death was the pack of wolves that had been hanging around and howling at night. The ribs were eaten away and birds were pecking at it.
