I can’t remember a Memorial Weekend this nice, it’s been absolutely beautiful. The sun has been shining and the temperatures have been great. Yesterday it got up to 75 degrees and today it got up to 82 degrees. The heat is welcome after the way too long of a winter this year.
Our guests at Voyageur are catching some fish. The lake trout have been really biting while walleye fishing is a little slower but there are still some being caught. Rumor has it someone caught and released a 28″ walleye and someone caught and kept a 32″ walleye, that’s around 12 pounds.
Canoeists are enjoying calm lakes for paddling. The past couple of days it’s been like glass out on Saganaga. The best part of this Memorial Weekend on the Gunflint Trail? There are no bugs!
Enjoy the rest of your Memorial Weekend as we know we will on the Gunflint Trail.
