Last night on the Gunflint Trail it didn’t get below zero degrees. I’m not sure when the last time that happened was but it seems like it’s been quite awhile. The temperatures are predicted to be nice this weekend with highs into the teens during the daytime. This will make for an awesome weekend of outdoor fun.
Voyageur Crew member Mark will no doubt take advantage of the nicer temperatures to do some ice fishing. He went out last weekend in the brutal cold and caught quite a few lake trout. I’m not sure when he and his fishing partner caught this rainbow trout but it sure is pretty.
This could be the last weekend of hockey and I think next weekend is the last Saturday basketball game. I’m looking forward to time on the weekends to enjoy the Gunflint Trail. Mush for a Cure will be here before I know it and I hope to see you there March 7th and 8th. All of the activities on Saturday will be on Gunflint Lake this year and it should be a blast. One thing I’m not worried about this year is having enough snow for the event. There will be plenty of it to go around!
