A White Thanksgiving

While some people wonder if they will have a white Christmas, we on the Trail wonder about Thanksgiving.  With a few inches of snow on the ground and more in the forecast it looks like this year will be a white Thanksgiving on the Gunflint Trail.  The forecast calls for high temperatures in the 20’s and 30’s and lows down into the single digits.  I don’t think the snow is going to go anywhere real soon.  So, I’m ready, go ahead and bring it on Mother Nature, we’re ready for winter.  As long as it’s going to be cold it may as well get good and cold and as long as there is snow on the ground, there may as well be enough to ski, snowshoe, and snowmobile.  The sooner, the better, because I am not one who likes a slow transition.  We’re armed with our shovels, the woodpile is stocked, and the canoes are stored until summer.
