Welcome Home Voyageur Crew

Monday night was a very special night at Voyageur Canoe Outfitters.  Friends and family gathered to welcome home Voyageurs Hudson Bay Expedition Crew from their 1300 mile paddling adventure.  It was wonderful to see the smiling faces of the crew back at Voyageur safe and sound.

Everyone at the gathering had a wonderful time discovering more details about the impressive trip from Lake Superior to Hudson Bay.  The Crew prepared some slides for viewing and displayed other items from their adventure.  The Granite Gear Packs they used were in amazing condition after 77 days of use.  They shared the remaining Hudson Bay Bars with guests and set out their remaining food provided by Richmoor Foods.  While the crew has sworn off trail mix for awhile they will all still eat Jack Links Jerky.  Due to the expense of transporting canoes back via plane, train and automobile only one Wenonah Canoe made the return trip to Voyageur.  It is in stellar shape after the rugged rapids it carried the Voyageurs through.

After folks enjoyed the spectacular ribs on the barbecue and plenty of potluck dishes there was a Question and Answer time.  Mike asked the Crew common questions and then opened it up to the audience.  The presentation ended with the performance of a paddling song by the Voyageurs.

One would think the Voyageur Crew would be tired of sleeping in tents and hanging out in the wilderness.  However, Adam is back in the woods with his dad on a Boundary Waters trip and Andy is headed out today.  Mike and Will are also both still up on the Gunflint Trail easing back into the real world kind of like acclimitizing at Everest base camp.

We’re so thankful to everyone who supported the Voyageur Crew on this Expedition and we’re so grateful for their safe return.
