Wedding Celebration

I must be getting too old for this kind of stuff.  My sister-in-law got married in St. Cloud yesterday and had a huge celebration, open bar and all.  They say the older you get the harder it is for your body to handle things.  This must be why I don’t feel good this morning, is it still morning?

I wish I could say it’s from the open bar that I’m feeling this way but unfortunately it’s not.  Running a canoe outfitting business didn’t afford us the luxury of partying til all hours of the night last night.  Instead, after three hours of photographs in the hot sun, an hour long church service, mingling with guests during dinner and dancing for a couple of hours we climbed into the vehicle to head home.

The sun had set by the time we started to head north, that’s pretty late on June 13th in Minnesota! We switched drivers a couple of times and about five hours later we were in Grand Marais, MN.  Two vehicles awaited us there so with heavy eyes & two sleeping kids we decided to stay put.

After a couple of hours Mike got up and made the rest of the journey back to Voyageur to greet guests.  I stayed in bed and waited for the kid’s to get up and I’m still waiting for Abby!  It’s time to wake her up and head back home to the life I love at the end of the Trail.
