Wacky Winter Weather

It is still winter yet people in central Minnesota are already golfing! Did someone flip the calendar ahead a couple of months? That’s what the temperatures and weather patterns are suggesting.

According to MPR there was a lightning strike and thunderstorm moving into the BWCA yesterday morning near Ely, MN. The temperature at the end of the Gunflint Trail reached 50 degrees for the second time this week too.

If you read my blog then you’ll know these warm temperatures are not making me happy and the snow coverage map below makes me very sad! We still have snow on the Gunflint Trail and over the hill outside of Grand Marais and quite a bit of it. But if we have another week of these temperatures then it won’t last for long. I’m not ready to put away my cross-country skis or snowshoes yet.
