Timberwolf on the Trail

The other night we were driving home from town and saw a Timberwolf alongside the Gunflint Trail.  Although there are many wolves in the area we normally don’t get the opportunity to see them, especially during the summertime.  This wolf was hanging out right near the Magnetic Rock hiking trail and was enjoying some type of a meal.  Our vehicle scared the wolf into the woods so we pulled into the parking lot, turned off the lights, and waited for it to return.  After a few minutes we didn’t think it would come back so we started to pull out and here it was crossing the road right in front of us.  It’s always a treat to see wildlife on the Trail and an even bigger treat when it is a Timberwolf.
