The Ice is Hanging In there

21 degrees this morning and I had to get the scraper out for the windwhield again.  I’m hoping this was the last day it will be needed this spring but we shall see.  The ice has come off of the Seagull River and our neighboring Gull Lake.

The rain and wind we’ve experienced did help some waves crash and break up a lttle bit. There are a few bigger lakes than may go off sooner rather than later due to the direction they li.  From the way it sounded a couple of the lakes in Ely have opened up.

If you want to come up and paddle we can find you a plac to put in.  There are plenty of small creeks and areas we can show you on the Gunflint Trail.
