September Moon

The full moon of September is right around the corner on the 7th of the month.  There are many names for the September Moon including, Rice, Corn maker, Drying Grass, Yellow Leaf, Snow Goose, When the leaves fall off, When the deer paw the earth, and in Eastern Comanche, Kwi Ena Mua, translated to mean, The Back to School Moon.

For Abby it is the Back to School Moon,  for Josh it is the Start of School Moon, and for me it is the Back to Freedom Moon.  Today is the first day of Kindergarten for Josh and  when Josh and Abby get onto the bus at 6:30 AM I will return home child free until they get back off of the bus at 4:40 PM.

I am not sure what I will do with both kids in school and all of my new found freedom.  I would like to think I will have time to get to all of those projects I have neglected for the past 6 years but I’m not sure that will happen.  It would be nice to be able to organize my house and keep it clean, but somehow that seems doubtful too.  I imagine I will have the time to do a better job or focus more of my energy on Voyageur, but wonder if I will.

I’m hoping I will spend the month of September enjoying the leaves turning yellow, watching the leaves fall off of the trees, and pawing the earth with my own two feet as I enjoy my newly found freedom in the woods and water where I belong.
