A woman who placed an emergency call on a satellite phone last Sunday, June 2nd from Basswood Lake in the BWCA was found on Monday. Unfortunately her husband wasn’t found until yesterday when his dead body was recovered. Details haven’t been released as to what happened but our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Missing Minnetonka Man Found Dead in Boundary Waters Canoe Area

A Minnetonka man who was missing along the Canadian border was found dead Thursday.

Ontario Provincial Police say 78-year-old Richard Barber’s body was found in Ontario, Canada at Basswood Lake within Quetico Provincial Park.

Officials had been searching the area since Sunday, when they received a distress call.

On Monday crews found Barber’s wife, Elaine, alive near the lake. She is recovering at a hospital in Ontario.

At this point, additional details have not been released.
