Raspberries and Thimbleberries

If you’re out for a walk then keep your eyes open for ripe raspberries and thimbleberries.  In some places the raspberries are overripe but in other places they are just right for picking. I saw some on the hiking trails at Chik-Wauk the other day and along the Trout Lake Road off of the Gunflint Trail.  I usually don’t bother picking raspberries because you get so few in comparison to blueberries but this year I’ve decided I’d rather bend over half-way for four raspberries then all of the way for one blueberry.
